1. What format are my tracks in?
The tracks available on Audiojelly are all MP3 files. MP3 is the name given to a technique of encoding music to make the files smaller in size then they were originally. This makes them much easier and quicker to download. It can however result in a sound that doesn't quite compare to CD-quality. As a result you'll often see two bitrates of MP3 on Audiojelly - 192 and 320 kbps. The bitrate refers to how much information is being processed per second - kilobits per second. The higher bitrate produces a better-quality sound, but results in a larger file. Most people cannot tell the difference between a 320 kbps MP3 and the same track on CD (44KHz 16-bit).
2. How do I download my tracks?
Click on the button labelled 'Your Downloads' from the navigation taskbar. You should now see your available downloads under the tab 'Current downloads'. Click on the button labelled 'download'. Your computer should now automatically start downloading the file. You may be presented with an option to play the file instead of downloading it. If so then you should select the option labelled 'save to disk'.
3. How can I activate a coupon?
To activate your coupon click on the 'COUPONS' tab. Here you will see a list of coupons that you have available. Click on the name of the coupon or the 'Activate' button to redeem your coupon. Your tracks will be automatically placed into your current downloads.
4. How can I play my tracks?
You will either need a player on your computer able to play MP3 files, a separate MP3 player or a CD-ROM. Most computers today come with MP3 players already installed. If you computer does not then you can download some of the more popular players for free*:
Windows Media Player:

(Windows / Mac)
WinAmp:
http://www.winamp.com/player/
(Windows)
XMMS:
http://www.xmms.org/download.php
(Linux)
If you have a CD-ROM attached to your computer then you may be able to create a CD with your MP3 files written as CD Audio that will play in any normal CD player. This may depend on what CD-burning software you currently have installed. You should refer to the manual or help file for that program.
5. What is a zip file?
A zip file is known as an 'archive' file. It contains one or more other files which are 'compressed' - they tend to have a smaller file size. MP3 files do not compress very much. The ability to combine tracks into zip files is offered on Audiojelly simply to make it easier to download your tracks. If, for example you have four tracks, it would take you a little bit of time sat in front of your computer to download them all. You could instead put them into a zip and then you would only have one file to download instead of four. You could leave your computer to it while you do something else.
6. How do I put tracks into zip files?
Click on the button labelled 'Your Downloads' from the navigation taskbar. You should now see your available downloads under the tab 'Current downloads'. Now click on the tab labelled 'zip files'. Here again you will be presented with your currently available downloads. Select which tracks you want in each file by ticking the box next to the track name, or else click on the 'Select all' button at the bottom. Once you are done click 'Submit' and the Audiojelly servers will create your zip files for you. You will be able to download them in exactly the same way as downloading tracks, from the 'Zip files' section.
7. What do I do once I've downloaded my zip file?
You'll need to 'unzip' it - this will change the zip file back into your tracks. Most computers come with some kind of unzip program already installed, but you can download some of the more popular ones, some of which are free*:
stuffit:
http://www.stuffit.com
(Windows / Mac / Linux)
WinZip:
http://www.winzip.com/downwzeval.htm
(Windows)
7-Zip:
http://www.7-zip.org/
(Windows / Linux)
Please refer to your unzip program manual or help file as to how to use it to unzip files.
8. There's no 'download' button.
Some anti-virus and personal firewall programs block out the 'download' button when you review your current downloads. You may need to temporarily turn off your program if you see these effects.
9. It seems to have downloaded but I can't find my tracks.
Some web browsers / download managers download your tracks to a default location on your computer. Try performing a search for the file - *.mp3. Most computer operating systems come with a 'Search' facility: Type *.mp3 into the search field and specify all your computer's hard disk drives and all subfolders.
10. The download doesn't seem to start.
Some firewalls can prevent you downloading MP3 files to your computer. Other times your web browser may be set to not allow file downloads. If you are able then you should try lowering the restrictions on these temporarily while downloading. If not then it may be an idea to try downloading your tracks from a different computer.
11. The download starts but stops after ---KB and doesn't seem to do anything.
Occasionally anti-virus software can halt a download while it checks the incoming file for possible viruses. You may simply need to wait a while for it to resume, or you may have to click on a 'resume' prompt from your anti-virus program. There could also be a problem with your connection to the internet or from your ISP to the Audiojelly servers. The best thing to do is simply be patient, but if the download doesn't seem to be doing anything for a several minutes then try cancelling it and re-trying. Check that you are online and that you can access other web sites.
12. The download has finished but it was incomplete.
Some ISP accounts such as AOL only allow you to hold a certain amount of file size at any time. For example, if your limit was 20mb and you were downloading four 10mb tracks then when all four are at a stage of maybe 5mb that will mean that the limit has been reached and one of them will terminate, but it will look as though it has downloaded entirely, therefore only giving half the track. The others will continue to download with some more space having been freed but the same thing will happen once the limit has been reached again. In this case we would recommend downloading tracks one at a time and not using the zip file utility. You may also find that a download manager can help. The following download managers have been recommended to us*:
ReGet:

(Windows)
Internet Download Manager:

(Windows)
Speed download:

(Mac)
Konan Pro:

(Linux)
Please refer to the download manager program manual or help file as to how to use it to download files.
13. When I click on 'download' it just opens Windows Media Player.
Try right-clicking on the download button and selecting 'Save target as...' or 'Save link as...'. You should now be presented with a download prompt.
14. The tracks I bought a few days ago aren't in my downloads anymore.
Your downloads are only available to you for a 24 hour period. If you still need to download them after that then you have a further one-off ability to do so from the 're-download' section of 'Your downloads'.
15. I'm still having trouble with my downloads.
You have a 24 hour period in which to download your tracks. If you cannot download them right now then try waiting a while and trying again or try using a different computer. If you still cannot get your downloads then please email us at
support@audiojelly.com specifying what the problem is, what you have tried doing and any error messages that come up. If you could also include your Audiojelly username & full sign up name, then that will make it quicker and easier for us to rectify the problem.
